Brian Diescher’s love for photography began at age six when his mother gave him his first 35mm camera. He was immediately drawn to photography and could rarely be seen without a camera in his possession. He was never one to question what he wanted to be when he grew up.

Brian moved from the Catskill Mountains of New York to Boston, MA in order to pursue photography. He began private training with “Life” photographer, Harold Feinstein, who taught him the basics of exposure, development and printing film, as well as reinforcing the respect and love of the art of photography. In order to gain better understanding of the technical side of the craft, Brian enrolled at the New England School of Photography, where he completed the Professional Program in 2001.

He spent a few years assisting advertising, editorial and fashion photographers but was left feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. Then, after seeing an amazing performance by a band called Oysterhead, Brian decided to follow his heart and combine his two passions; music and photography. He worked hard photographing local musicians around Boston to develop his technique. Once he became comfortable with his methods, he began to photograph for publication. Brain’s photographs can currently be seen in the pages of Scene Magazine and on-line for Glide Magazine and Barlogical Magazine.

His goal is to create images that allow the viewer to experience the visual beauty and energy of music performance. Brian hopes to collaborate with musicians and artists directly.
